Dance Practice at Dessert Revel

It’s been a while since I’ve done much calling at SCA meetings, but we managed to get some dancing at Dessert Revel this week. Had some new dancers: Dianna (not sure on the spelling), Kaven, Katrushka, Brienwulf (sic) were all doing it for the first time. They were really kind: we did Petit Vriens, and then they let me walk them through Petite Rose, which I didn’t really know well. We did Bransle Pinagay for starters, and then Chestnut four times through until everyone felt comfortable with it. A fair amount of dancing for only that many dances. Katrushka has apparently done a lot of dance and music theory classes and is really interesting in getting involved in calling and teaching, which is marvelous! I hope she’ll keep enjoying it.
